Have questions about LifeTime Pet Dog Boarding services?Q: Who Is LifeTime Pet?
A: LifeTime Pet is a family owned and operated, local business, located at 1030 E Santa Fe Street in Olathe, KS. In February of 2012, the pet supply store decided to enhance their facilities to include a dog boarding and day care facility. For years, LifeTime Pet, formerly Y BAR H/Lloyds's supplied the community with high quality, affordable pet supplies. We are animal lovers, who want the best for your animals. At LifeTime Pet, we understand that sometimes when you travel, you are not able to bring your four legged friends with you. You can relax knowing that your dog is enjoying his vacation at our Olathe dog boarding facilities! Q: What is LifeTime Pet's Dog Boarding Like? A: The first time you leave your Four-Legged Friend at LifeTime Pet, whether it is for a day of fun with other dogs, or for overnight lodging, we know you will have questions. If you have never used our dog boarding services before, we would love it if you would choose us the next time you need dog boarding service. Feel free to schedule your doggy interview! There is also a Behavior Questionnaire form that you will need to download and fill out prior to the interview, that you will bring with you. Once the dog boarding interview is scheduled, we will call to confirm the date and time of your visit. We will also use this time to answer any dog boarding questions you may have. During the interview time your dog will be introduced to two other dogs. Your dog is welcome to stay for at least 3 hours, at no charge, so our staff can observe his or her play patterns. This will allow us to learn about the best ways to make your dog comfortable during his/her stay with us. LifeTime Pet will also require proof of shot records from your veterinarian prior to his/her first stay. This ensures that all of the pets that use our dog boarding facilities are as safe as can be. These can be e-mailed to Animals@LifeTimePet.net or faxed to us at 913-764-4666. Q: What are the requirements for dog boarding? A: Your dog must be at least 4 months old, spayed or neutered (if over 7 months) and current on vaccinations for rabies, distemper and bordetella. He or she must be healthy, flea/tick free, friendly with other dogs and people, and love to play! If you need to purchase Flea and Tick treatment, it is available at check-in. Q: What will he/she do during his/her dog boarding stay? A: He or she will play with other dogs of a similar age, size and temperament. The facilities include 2 separate indoor, temperature controlled areas for dogs to play. This dog boarding area is equipped with individual dog beds and a flat screen television, for their viewing enjoyment. There is also a large outdoor area, where the dogs can play on doggy playground equipment, play catch with our Pet Specialists, or just lay in the grass and be a dog. Q: What should my dog bring with them? A: A collar with the dog's name and phone number on the ID tag. You can supply us with your own dog food from home, or LifeTime Pet will feed them the house brand, Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice, if no food is provided. There is NO charge for using your food vs. the house brand food. If you want to bring your pets favorite toy, he/she will be able to keep it with them while they sleep. LifeTime Pet will supply the beds, however, if you want to bring a bed from home, that is fine. We want your dog to feel comfortable and happy while in our Olathe dog boarding care. Q: Does LifeTime Pet provide bathing? A: Yes. For an additional cost, our staff will bathe your dog for you while he or she is being boarded. Q: Will my dog be able to receive medicine? A: Our staff will administer medication provided by you in pill, powder or liquid form for no additional fee. We do not give any injected medications. All medications must be in their original container. Q: What if my dog gets sick or injured? A: Our staff will take great care of your pet if an accident occurs. Of course, you will be contacted. If it is an emergency, we will take your dog to the vet immediately. Q: Can my dog sleep at daycare? A: Yes. You can request a nap for your dog. Q: Should I feed my dog prior to dropping him/her off? A: It is best to eat 1.5 hours before coming to daycare to prevent bloat, which can be caused by playing too quickly after eating. If your dog has eaten in less than 1.5 hours, our staff will place him or her in a resting area until the proper amount of time has passed. Q: Will my dog be fed at daycare? A: Our staff is happy to accommodate your feeding schedule. Please let us know if you want your dog to eat when you drop them off, or if you like them to have lunch. We want your dog to be happy and relaxed, and that means keeping them on their usual schedule. Q: Do I need to make a reservation? A: It is highly recommended to make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. If this is your Four Legged Friend's first visit, the interview process does take some time, so please don't wait until the last minute. Also remember that spots fill up fast during holidays. Q: When can I drop my dog off or pick him up? A: You are welcome to drop off your pet any time after opening! If you have a reservation, we will open at 7:00am. Please pick up your dog by 6:45, so our staff can put the other boarding dogs to bed. Q: Why does my dog seem so tired when I pick him/her up from Boarding/Day Care? A: When dogs are in our care, they play more than they would normally, if they were at home. Many dog's are tired after a fun stay at LifeTime Pet! |
